What size should my cake topper be?

For a topper that sits flat on top, go about 1 to 1.5 inches smaller than your cake so there's room for a piped border.

For square cakes use the same measurements on a square topper. Not sure? Send us a message with your cake size and we'll tell you which to order.

Getting the best result from your photo

• Use the original photo, not a screenshot or social media download
• Bright, well-lit photos print best – edible inks print slightly softer than paper
• Keep faces away from the edges so they aren't lost under a piped border
• Upload JPG or PNG; logos print sharpest from a PNG or PDF

How to put a photo topper on a cake

1. Make sure the cake surface is smooth and dry-ish (fresh buttercream or fondant is ideal).
2. Carefully peel the icing topper from its backing.
3. Lay it straight onto buttercream. On fondant, brush a very light layer of water or edible glue first.
4. Smooth from the centre outwards and pipe a border to finish.
